You Said Yes to Jesus, Now What?!

You just made the most important decision of your life. This is where the journey begins...not where it ends.

First of all… I’m celebrating with you.

Heaven is literally rejoicing because of your yes!

"I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. "

Luke 15:7

And just so we’re clear—you don’t need to have all the answers right now.

You don’t need to fake it, fix it, or “catch up” to anyone else.

You’re in. You’re sealed. You’re loved.

But now… let’s walk this thing out.

Here’s What to Do Next:

  • Talk to God Like You Know Him

Prayer doesn’t have to sound deep or religious. It’s a conversation.

    Start simple:

“God, I don’t know what I’m doing, but I want to know You.”

    That’s enough.

    He’ll respond.

"You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart"

    —Jeremiah 29:13 NLT)

  • Get to Know His Voice (Through His Word)

The Bible isn’t just a rulebook. It’s how God reveals Himself...

Start with the Gospel of John or Romans in the NLT or AMP.

Highlight what stands out. Ask questions. God can handle them.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

    —Psalm 119:105 AMP

  • You Need the Holy Spirit.

    You need the Holy Spirit.

Not just to “feel something” in church, but to live this new life.

Jesus didn’t just die for you—He sent His Spirit to live in you.

Without Him, this walk feels impossible. But with Him…?

You’ll experience real power, real conviction, real comfort, and real change.

📖 John 14:26 AMP – “But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things.

📖 Acts 1:8 – “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you…

Ask Him to fill you. Right now. Right where you are.

“Holy Spirit, I welcome You. Lead me. Teach me. Fill me.”

    He’ll respond. He always does.

  • Find Community That Actually Follows Christ.

You weren’t meant to walk this out alone.

Not with churchy cliques… but with real, Spirit-filled people who are growing in Christ and walking in truth.

Ask God to lead you to a church that teaches the Word, honors the Holy Spirit, and doesn’t make idols out of leaders, lights, or likes.

I know how hard it is to find that in today’s world. That’s why I’m putting together a practical “How to Find a Church” Checklist to help you spot red flags, trust your discernment, and find a place where your soul can actually grow.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God…

    —1 John 4:1 NLT

  • Let Go of the Old Stuff.

You may feel the pull to go back to old habits, people, or patterns.

That’s normal—but now you have a new heart and a new Spirit inside you (Ezekiel 36:26).

Old things are passing away. Let them go.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.

The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

    —2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

  • Get Baptized (When You’re Ready)

Baptism is an outward picture of the inward change that’s already taken place.

It’s not what saves you—Jesus already did that. But it’s a public declaration that your old life is buried and your new life has begun.

Ask God when and where. He’ll lead you.

  • Keep Showing Up

Don’t worry about being “on fire” every day. Just keep showing up.

There will be highs and lows—but God never changes.

When you fall (and you will), don’t run from Him—run to Him.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love…

    —Romans 8:38–39 NLT

“Keep showing up” means continuing to pursue God even when you don’t feel anything.

It’s about consistency over emotion.

Keep praying.

Keep seeking.

Even on the days when you feel distant or discouraged—show up anyway.

That’s where transformation happens: in the showing up.

  • Remember, You’re Not Who You Were

You may not feel brand new yet.

    But spiritually—you are.

    And that identity is unchangeable.

    You are:

    ✔ Chosen

    ✔ Forgiven

    ✔ Redeemed

    ✔ Loved

✔ Sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13 AMP)

    This is only the beginning.

This is the beginning of a Spirit-led life—not a performance-based one.

You’re not expected to “figure it out.”

You’re invited to follow.
